Chris Edwards PhD, BEng
Jaguar Land Rover
Chris became a Research Associate within SMART on a DTI Design for End-of-life Vehicles research project in 2004. During his 3 years with SMART he worked with industrial collaborators, manufacturers and Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATF’s) to develop a clear understanding of the issues affecting end-of-life treatment and vehicle design and developed a design methodology and tool which considered all end-of-life options for vehicles including shredding.
Since leaving SMART he worked for 5 years as an Environmental Consultant at Intertek (previously Ciba Expert Services) managing and conducting Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs) to provide customers with the cradle to grave environmental impact of their product or service. He then joined Jaguar Land Rover in 2012, firstly as an Environment Product Attribute Leader representing the team on Vehicle Programmes and then in his current role leading the use of Life Cycle Assessment tools within the business.
Chris Edwards is currently responsible for lifecycle assessment tools & technologies with Jaguar Land Rover. This role involves the development of tools used throughout the business to understand and communicate environmental impact and to ensure the future vehicle programmes are tracked appropriately to comply with the company’s corporate goals.
