Yang Luo BEng MSc PhD

Research Associate, Heriot-Watt University

Yang joined the Centre of SMART in 2012 as a PhD research student, working in the area of ‘Energy recovery within manufacturing industry’. His knowledge and expertise in Energy Flow Modelling and experience of working with industry supported the SMART team in achieving the improvement of energy efficient manufacturing in order to benefit industrial cost saving.

During summer 2011, Yang took placement within the University, working on a joint project with an external company specialising in concrete preservation technologies. Having graduated from Loughborough University in 2012 with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Yang  undertook his doctorate within the SMART team and completed it in 2016.

Yang is now a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University.
